Joanne Dolley is a Human Geographer who researches public space, with a focus on ‘third place’ – informal neighbourhood meeting places. She is currently researching how public art enhances third places. Her PhD research case study was community gardens and Masters research was on school gardens as a facility for teaching across the curriculum. Joanne is a Research Fellow in the Arts, Education & Law Group at Griffith University and member of the Cities Research Institute. She is currently a CI on a project developing a serious game for educating about UN Sustainable Development Goal 11 – “Make cities inclusive, safe, resilient and sustainable”.
