Daniel Connell

Bio

Dr Daniel Connell is a socially engaged contemporary artist who investigates new models of inter-subjective representation. Born Tartanyungga /Adelaide, Kaurna Country 1970. Daniel trained in visual art while employed in multi-disciplinary community activities. After ten years teaching Spanish, Daniel relocated to India in 2007 to begin a full time arts practice. He completed a Masters and PhD in art, University of South Australia. He developed major projects for Oz Asia Festival, coordinated the cultural element of the Government of South Australia trade mission to India and was invited as artist in residence in Pepper House Studios by the Kochi Biennale Foundation. He is a senior lecturer at Adelaide Central School of Art in painting and drawing. In 2018 he was invited by the Bob Hawke Prime Ministerial Centre to present a TED X talk and 2020 selected for Australia Council for the Arts Leadership Cohort. www.danielconnellartist.com
